Less Testing Doesn’t Necessarily Mean Less Fibreglass For Formula 1
Author: Anna Stenning
Title: Less Testing Doesn\’t Necessarily Mean Less Fibreglass For Formula 1
Article: Fibreglass is an essential ingredient into the makeup of a Formula 1 car. It is an extremely heat resistant and strong product which features several beneficial aspects to any team looking to use it. It was initially thought that the introduction of the testing ban would see a reduction in costs and there for an reduction in product production.
If anything the case has been quite the opposite, because some Formula 1 teams have been so desperate to catch up with the leaders of the series in the form of Brawn GP and Red Bull Racing, there has been an increase in the amount of fibreglass production taking place inside the paddock, which has been good news for fibreglass manufacturers in the UK.
With a host of the current Formula 1 teams including Brawn, Williams, Force India, Red Bull Racing and McLaren all residing in the UK and the prospect of further teams like Lotus and Manor joining the championship in 2010, things are starting to look slightly more optimistic for the struggling fibreglass industry within the UK.
Brawn has been one team who has had to continually develop their car to maintain their impressive form. Although the team entered the season with a fantastic package that had been designed, constructed and refined over the end of 2008, once every other team upped the ante with a host of improvements it was up to the Brackley based team to respond.
The easiest way to make improvements to a winning car is to find small aerodynamic enhancements that will allow the drivers to shave a few extra tenths of the lap time either down the straights or through the corners. This can be achieved by obtaining greater downforce and therefore extra grip or finding a better way to manoeuvre the air over the car.
With the restrictive new rules laid out before the start of the 2009 campaign got underway, there was very little room for the manufacturers to make changes. However, these are some of the best engineers in the world and it appears that no matter what rules or restrictions are placed upon them they will always find a way to make the cars go faster and faster.
In the current economic crisis it has been good news to hear that the fibreglass factories are benefitting from the success of the Formula 1 championship and I’m sure they will be able to celebrate in Brawn GP’s success. Title: The Ford Fusion – Space And Comfort For Any Driver
Article: Ford Motor Company has used the name Ford Fusion for two different models, namely Ford Fusion Europe and Ford Fusion Americas. Before launching the Ford Focus, the Ford Company had used the name with their contractors in Europe for their publicity.
The Ford Fusion in North America met these nomenclature problems and the name of the model in this case was Futura. As the name was used by a tire distributor Pep Boys and according to the court challenge two separate names exist for the model.
The European Ford Fusion is an extended version of the model Ford Fiesta supermini, which was manufactured by the Ford of Europe from the year 2002. The model was sold in the countries India and the Europe. The UAV, abbreviated as Urban Activity Vehicles was produced by Ford Fusion. The UAV models include both the multi purpose and estates vehicles. As the vehicle contains roof racks, ground clearance increment and taller roof, the vehicle provides more space and comfort even for the taller drivers. Dressing Up the Ordinary Truck With Truck Bed Covers

Title: Dressing Up the Ordinary Truck With Truck Bed Covers
Article: We all like for our belongings to at least appear unique and special and one of the ways people are achieving this with their vehicles is by having modifications made to stock vehicles at half the price of custom ordering. Among the more popular modifications for trucks today are truck bed covers that have LED lights, blinking lights, under lighting, back lighting, special graphics, you name it. We are making our vehicles stand out and demand attention.
For those with less ostentatious desires, truck bed covers offer many benefits to drivers of trucks who do not need a massive amount of vertical cargo space. You must keep in mind before making the decision to make this particular modification the fact that you may be entirely sacrificing your ability to carry vertical cargo in your truck. Some are rather hesitant to make this particular decision because the bought their trucks for the ability to do just that. Others however find this no deterrent whatsoever and are ready and willing to make the necessary adjustments to their trucks and their plans.
Truck bed covers are more popular today than at any other point in history and their popularity only seems to be growing with the many modifications and additions that can be made to these covers. This is particular popular among young truck owners while older truck owners tend to select truck bed covers for the safety and security of their cargo alone. Not only do these nifty covers protect your cargo from the damage of sun, surf, wind, and rain; they also protect your belongings from prying eyes and sticky fingers that are looking for a quick grab no matter what it is.
If you have a truck lover in the family who has been eyeing a few truck bed covers for his truck you might want to see if you can either purchase a gift certificate to help him or her get the truck bed covers of their dreams or see if you can get several family members to go in together and buy one for them. It’s a great Christmas, wedding, graduation, birthday, or just because gift to give anyone you love. I do recommend unless you know your loved one extremely well, purchasing a gift certificate for the work rather than hijacking their truck and having the work done without their knowledge. It could be that they had something else in mind all together. Gift certificates work great in this particular situation provided you know the store they would select.
While truck bed covers do not make the truck, for many young men and women they make the truck a lot more fun to drive. Whether your goals for purchasing a truck bed cover is the safety of your belongings or adding a little style and pizzazz to your truck, I’m sure there are several truck bed covers that will suit your needs perfectly. Be sure to check out all of your available options thoroughly and completely before making your final decision and choose the one that will best suit your needs and desires for your truck. New Caravans; The Key Considerations
Author: Thomas Pretty
Title: New Caravans; The Key Considerations
Article: Caravans appeal to many people, those who want the simplistic pleasures of the open road and those who want to have more affordable holidays for themselves and their families. However the new caravans market is packed with different models touting features and services that to the newcomer can be confusing and befuddling. Fundamentally you need to understand your own needs before purchasing; it can be expensive so ensuring the right decision is made is essential. Hopefully the following article will give the reader information on exactly what kind of considerations need to be made before buying new caravans.
The first and major consideration that must be made is the weight of the caravan. This is down to the fact that your towing vehicle will have a limit to the weight it can tow. For those new to the world of caravanning the importance of this can be underestimated; this however is a major mistake, your vehicle will have a maximum, towing weight for a reason, towing anything heavier could be seriously dangerous. Normally this information can be found in the car’s handbook although there are a number of internet websites that will allow buyers to enter their vehicle details into a system that will produce a list of suitable caravans.
The overall shape of any caravans being viewed should also be a concern. The older variety of caravans are likely to squarer in form and will increase the drag on your outfit subsequently increasing costs in the long run in terms of fuel efficiency. As fuel prices today are extremely high it is an understandable concern that fuel should be used efficiently, this is why new caravans utilise more streamlined design as this will decrease the drag and increase the fuel efficiency. For those who are especially concerned with fuel prices it is possible to buy Caravans that are collapsible, these flat pack outfits do reduce drag but are in no way as comfortable as rigid variants however.
Caravans vary in length and size immensely. While the showier caravan owners may be inclined to buy the largest most opulent outfit this is not always advisable for newcomers. The longer the outfit the harder it is to park and control, hence first timers should consider a smaller caravan, at least for an introductory period. If space is a major consideration there is always the option to pack an awning, this will be not only cheaper but also will make the outfit easier to park, with no sacrifice being made on space. In addition longer caravans are often susceptible to higher fees on toll roads and ferries, especially on the continent.
In the majority of cases new caravans come in two axle varieties, single and double. Normally it is the largest outfits that require two axles and smaller varieties only one. Even so, single axle variants are easier to park and while in the past they may have been less stable, today they are just as stable as double axle varieties.
It is hoped that this article has given new caravanners the vital information they need to purchase an outfit. If these considerations are made it should be possible to find the perfect outfit. With a logical and conscientious approach years of caravanning pleasure should be a very real and attainable possibility. Travel and RV expert Thomas Pretty looks at new caravans and what consumers should consider before buying an outfit.

What You Need to Know about SUV’s
Author: Stephen Dolan
Title: What You Need to Know about SUV’s
Article: It is no surprise that SUVs are among the most popular cars in the United States. SUVs provide amble room, and can handle adverse driving conditions and surfaces. They are the perfect vehicle for the busy family on the go. There are a number of problems with SUVs, however, that need to be kept in mind while purchasing any new vehicle in order to ensure that you can purchase the very best SUV for you and your family.
Poteneial problems with SUVs
Fuel economy is always a concern when buying a new SUV. The average SUV is 33 per cent less fuel efficient that the average passenger car; with rising fuel prices, that can translate into an expensive drive. For instance, if you drive 15,000 miles a year with gas prices at $1.15 a gallon, you will end up spending an extra $420 a year on gas.
SUVs also have an unfortunate tendency to roll over during accidents. SUVs are more likely to roll over because they are far heavier than normal care and ride higher, on average, 8 inches higher than passenger cars. This has likely led to higher levels of fatal accidents in SUV crashes than passenger car crashes. A study by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that rollovers accounted for 37 per cent of all fatal SUV crashes, as compared to only 15 per cent for passenger cars.
SUVs also usually result in higher insurance bills, thanks to the increased safety risk, higher maintenance costs, and the overall popularity of SUVs. On survey showed that SUV owners would pay between 5 and 19 per cent more for their car insurance because they own a SUV.
Which is the Best SUV for Yor Family?
How do you pick the best SUV from the over 80 different SUV models available for sale in the United States? The first step is to identify whether you want a small or full-sized SUV, and whether you will he content with a basic model, or if you want to go all out for a luxury model. Finding the perfect SUV is as much about finding a vehicle your pocket book is comfortable with as it is finding a vehicle that you are comfortable driving.
As with buying any type of car, the most important step in buying a SUV is research. You need to arrive at the car lot prepared, or the salespersons will be able to sell you something you do not really need or want. When you get your research done before you start looking at cars, you will be able to figure out what extras and options you actually need. So, read consumer magazines, look through message boards by current drivers, ask friends and family. It is only once you have done your research and have a general idea what you are looking for, you can start looking at cars.
You have to be sure you are absolutely comfortable with the SUV. There are a lot of models available for you as a consumer, so you do not have to content yourself car you are not truly excited about owning. Take your time, and ask a lot of questions about its safety features and fuel economy. If the salesperson does not have the answers you like or need, go somewhere else.
Of course, before signing any deal to pay for the SUV, be sure to take it for a spin. If you plan to take the SUV off-road, get the salesperson to take you somewhere where you can test this functionality. If you are buying the SUV to make the bumpy trip down your cottage laneway, you are not going to fully experience what that drive will be like by taking a smooth and straight drive down the freeway. The DIY Move; Hire A Van And Be On Your Way
Author: Thomas Pretty Title: The DIY Move; Hire A Van And Be On Your Way Article: With the price of removal companies it is unsurprising that many are choosing to hire a van and move their belongings without professional help. The do it yourself approach can be advisable if you live in a small flat or house and do not have a great deal of furniture. If however you are planning to hire a van and have a large house with many heavy pieces of furniture, hiring the professionals may be a wiser course of action
The main reason most people choose to hire a van and move themselves is due to the cost of removal companies. But as previously stated, it will take a great deal of effort. In addition, you will need a group of friends that are willing to help you; without the help of friends moving yourself can be next to impossible. Also important is to remain positive, while loading everything on and off the hire van can be stressful, try to remember the ultimate goal, a new home.
When you are exchanging and have to move in one day it is important to hire a van that is large enough to make the move in one trip. While you may think that doing many trips will be a possibility, remember that you can only unload the van once you have the house keys in your hand; this is sometimes late in the day meaning you will be moving into the night. As well as delays with completion, the other problem with using a van that is too small and making many trips is that the new owners of your property will also be turning up to move in, ideally they will not want half of your possessions still in situ when they arrive.
The cost of the van hire will not be the only cost for your move however, it is important to factor in the entire financial outlay when planning a move. As well as the hire price, you will most likely have to obtain removal boxes; while in the past supermarkets used to supply movers with these; increasingly this is not the case so buying boxes may be the only option. As well as moving boxes you will have to pay for the fuel for the van, if you have a great deal of distance to cover this may be expensive; also remember that you will have to return the van to the hire company. While your friends may be willing to help, it is still likely that a few beers and a pizza will be expected at the end of the day, so factor this into the cost as well.
In terms of the vans that you will be able to hire there are three main varieties on the market. The most commonly used is the transit van; this however is quite small and due to the sloping sides, not ideally suited to packing. The Luton box van is also widely used for people moving house due to the fact it is a happy medium between size and ease of driving. They will normally store a small house or flat in one go but if you want to save your back a tail-lift is advisable, the height from the road can be as much as two or three feet.
The final and largest commonly used hire van is the 7.5 tonne wagon. You will only be able to drive one of these if you passed your driving test before 1997 however. These trucks are quite high so ensure to take notice of low bridges and wires that wouldn’t be an issue if driving your car.
Self moving really is an option if you do not want to pay removal fees. Make sure however to prepare yourself for a long and physically exhausting day, moving house is definitely hard work. Make sure you choose the right van and your move should go smoothly, ensuring you will be in your new home in no time. Removal expert Thomas Pretty looks into why more people are choosing van hire to move house and the types of vans on the market today. Syndication Source: ThoughtSearch.com Continue reading

Now is the Time to Stake a Claim on the Used Saab SUV
Author: Christine Harrell Title: Now is the Time to Stake a Claim on the Used Saab SUV Article: Saab was a latecomer to the SUV game with its first ever SUV, the 9-7X in 2005. If you’re a Saab lover and prefer to buy pre-owned cars for the sake of better value, now is the time when you’ll finally begin to see the used Saab SUV on the used car lots. Aside from price, one of the major benefits of buying a used vehicle, especially one in its first year of introduction, is that enough time has passed to accrue real-world road test data, consumer opinions have been cast, and recalls have been issued to alert any big potential problems.
Recalls for the 2005:
So far it seems that instead of rushing into the SUV space, Designers spent the past several years perfecting the first ever Saab SUV. Now midway through 2006, there are no recalls for the 2005 Saab SUV. The fact that the first SUV from Saab is recall-free isn’t merely a stroke of luck. As auto trivia buffs may know, the platform of the 2005 Saab SUV is actually the same as the tried and true Chevy Trailblazer.
Future year changes:
Another way to identify any possible imperfections in a year’s design or performance is to scrutinize the changes made to the following year model. Many times the changes are simply enhancements, but other times they represent fixes to previous problems.
Surprisingly for a newly released model, there weren’t too many changes to the 2006 model; another mark in favor of the 2005 used Saab SUV. Among the changes were a 15 horsepower increase to the 6 cylinder engine and a new fuel saving technology for the 8 cylinder, yielding a more favorable gas mileage than the 2005 used Saab SUV.
Professional Reviews:
The most noted point of caution among professional auto reviewers was the assumption that loyal Saab drivers wouldn’t be able to accept the fact that the SUV was manufactured by GM in the United States. Saab realized that when it was time for their almost fanatically loyal car ownership base to trade-up, around 30% of them bought an SUV. Wanting to get into the space quickly, Saab contracted the manufacturing and some of the design of the Saab SUV to GM.
GM has had a long time to perfect the SUV, starting with the Suburban back in the 1930s. No doubt this is one of the reasons for the model’s performance success. Though the majority commented on the SUV’s classic Sweedish stylistic elements, many professional auto reviewers wondered if that fact that it was assembled in the US using the platform of a GM would be a turn-off for die hard Saab fans.
Customers Reviewers:
As wound up as the reviewers might be over the connection between this Saab SUV and GM, Saab owners don’t seem to mind a bit. While professionals gave this used Saab SUV a rating of 8.0 for overall reliability, drivers of this used Saab SUV rated it an exceptional 9.4 out of 10. When it comes to Saab, it seems the mainstream has never understood what makes the tight-knit Saab community tick.
Reliable, confident, and luxurious, the 2005 Saab SUV has the qualities of an ideal used vehicle purchase. Having been on the market for just over a year, this used Saab SUV might be difficult to track down, though not impossible. Choosing a dealership with a vehicle locator service will help to increase your odds of finding a 2005 used Saab SUV just off of lease contract. With a little determination and ingenuity – inherent qualities of Saab owners – you can easily be one of the first to own the 2005 used Saab SUV.
