Mazda Cruise Through The Credit Crunch
In the current economic downturn, where hundreds of companies are going out of business and the unemployment figures are hitting the two million mark, one little Japanese car manufacturer seems to be riding the storm - quite well too
Mazda has released figures stating that during February 2009 they recorded their highest monthly share for retail sales ever achieved by the brand
The feeling was that more people would be turning to the used car market where they could purchase cheaper, more affordable vehicles during a time when every last penny counts Mazda believe that people are simply reassessing the new car market and looking for options which give them more value for money
Mazda's most popular model has been the Mazda3 where sales during February were up by 87% compared to the corresponding month last year - which is quite incredible during the 'credit crunch ' Sales of the Mazda 2 also increased by 51% compared to February last year as well Being crowned World Car of the Year may have helped with this one!
The Mazda3 seems to have done so well because it simply provides you with value for money It offers you a good performance, good reliability, the cabin is spacious and comfortable, it looks good and it is reasonably priced as well So in terms of providing you with value for money it has done pretty well and as they say, 'the proof is in the pudding' - an 87% increase on the previous year tells you all you need to know
The Mazda3 comes in both a saloon and a hatchback The hatchback is really stylish, with a sporty, dynamic feel and a distinctive front grille and the saloon is more practical - offering you more space to cater for your families
The Mazda2 follows the same kind of plan - it is stylish, sporty, safe, agile but also offers you good fuel economy Out of all the cars which entered the World Car of the Year awards - including its closest competitors, the Ford Mondeo and the Mercedes Benz - the Mazda 2 received the highest environment score which shows that Mazda are taking huge steps in the environmental sector too Insurance costs for the Mazda 2 are also reasonable which is another attraction for people looking for a new, stylish hatchback that offers them value for money
So, at a time where plenty of car manufactures are struggling to make ends meet, including, Nissan, Toyota and Jaguar - Mazda seem to be thriving
