First, ensure you are changing the oil as recommended, every 3,000 miles or three months Changing your oil regularly will keep your engine running smoothly and will make your car more efficient If you take it to a place that specializes in oil changes they will even remind you when it is time to change it again

If you can, drive as much as you can on the highways to maintain a consistent speed and reduce the amount of stop and go traffic you run into Driving at the speed limit consistently will help reduce the amount of fuel you go through and will also give the added bonus of keeping you safer
